Blazon: Azure, a bendlet wavy Argent charged with a like riband Gules and over all a fox's mask Argent.
Significance: The badge is that of HMCS QU'APPELLE, named for the Qu'Appelle River in Saskatchewan. An Indian legend relates how a brave was paddling in his canoe when he heard a voice calling. Going ashore to investigate, there was not a trace of anyone. Because of this mystery, the Indians referred to this river as "Who Calls", which the French explorers translated as "Qu'Appelle". To suggest an attitude of intent listening and watching, the mask of the white fox is shown for the badge, indicating both the name and function of the Destroyer Escort with its sonar (for listening) and radar (for watching).
