Blazon: Argent a chevron Sable between in chief two Maple leaves and in base a cross pattée Gules.
Significance: The corps is named for Rear Admiral Fred J. Mifflin, a retired officer of the RCN, who started his naval career as a Sea Cadet in Newfoundland and retired as deputy commander of the Royal Canadian Navy. After retirement, he became a member of parliament and was at one time Minister of Fisheries and Oceans. In 1996 he was appointed Honorary National Chairman of the Navy League of Canada. The badge is loosely based on the arms of the Mifflin family, which include the black chevron and the cross pattée. The rank of Rear Admiral is signified by the two maple leaves, the symbol for that rank in the RCN.
