North-West Mounted Policeman (c. 1873) City of Prince Albert, Sask. Vol II, P 180 The dexter supporter of Prince Albert's arms shows a policeman of the North-West Mounted Police in the uniform used when the force was first established in 1873. It was essentially an army uniform, with a red tunic and pill-box hat.
North-West Mounted Policeman (c. 1882) City of Regina, Sask. Vol II, P 187 The North-West Mounted Policeman, shown as the dexter supporter, appears in the uniform of the early 1880's, when the original pill-box hat had been replaced by a spiked helmet.
