Edward (Ted) McNabb, B.A., LL.B., FRSA, FRHSC

Ted McNabb (born in 1960) has had a life-long interest in heraldry. Ted joined the society in 1974, and has been involved with the Society in a number of capacities over the years. He first joined the Board of Directors in 1985 and acted as the Deputy to the long-serving national Secretary Dalton Gooderham. He then went on to succeed Mr. Gooderham as Secretary from 1986 to 1988. It was during this period, that he was very active in promoting the concept of a Canadian heraldic authority which became a reality in 1988. In subsequent years, he served as President of the Ottawa Valley Branch (1993-1994) as well as being twice the Second Vice President of the Society. Currently, he is the Society’s First Vice President. Ted is a lawyer and currently works for the Government of Canada. He was created a Fellow of the Society in 2011 and was elected as the Society's 25th President in 2015.
