Blazon: Or, the head of a five-pronged fish spear erect, Azure.
Significance: The badge is that of HMS RESTIGOUCHE. The gold field is from the arms of New Brunswick. The five-pronged spear refers to the five tributaries of the Restigouche river, and to the possible Micmac origin of the name "river with five branches". Since the spear is an instrument for the destruction of fish beneath the water, it is also a subtle reference to the anti-submarine action of the destroyer.
