Blazon: Gules, the Royal Cypher of King William IV Or.
Significance: The corps is named for the first Canadian sea-going steamship ROYAL WILLIAM, itself named for King William IV, uncle and predecessor of Queen Victoria, and known as the "sailor king". The badge design is the official Royal Cypher of that sovereign, showing the letter "W" for William and two mirror-image letter "R"'s for "Rex" (king), between the royal crown and the figure IV.
