Blazon: Vert, a Tudor rose Argent and Gules, barbed and seeded Or, surrounded by five labels points inwards and converging, forming a pentagonal cross pattée of the second.
Significance: The badge is that of HMCS QUINTE, a Bay Class minesweeper. The word Quinte is probably derived from the name of an Iroquoian village near Belleville called Kinte or Kintay, the meaning of which is unknown. Therefore, "Quinte" is symbolized by a rebus on the word, as follows: the Latin prefix "quint-" means "five", and the white heraldic labels resemble the letter E -- hence five E's or Quint-E. The rose is in honour of the United Empire Loyalists, who were the first permanent settlers in the area.
