Blazon: Argent, within a circlet of chain of twenty-two links Azure, a maple leaf Gules, surmounted by a cartouche Or charged with a fouled anchor Sable.
Significance: The badge is that of HMCS PATRIOT, one of Canada's first two destroyers in 1919 and later the Naval Reserve Headquarters in Hamilton, Ontario from 1953 to 1968. The chain represnts the 22 (then existing) Naval Reserve Divisions across Canada, forming a guard about the maple leaf charged with an anchor, representing the supporting role of the reserve to the regular navy.
