Blazon: Azure, a five-grilled helmet Argent, grilled and garnished Or, ensigned with a coronet fleur-de-lisé of the last.
Significance: The badge is that of HMCS PROTECTEUR. A helmet is an instrument of protection, and having the helmet ensigned with a coronet of fleur-de-lis (the emblem of Royal France), indicates the French spelling of the word.
