Blazon: Azure, an escallop shell erect Argent, irradiated with nine ears of wild rice Or, all issuant from two barrulets wavy of the third in base.
Significance: The badge is that of HMCS OJIBWA. The design is based on the Ojibwa myth that the tribe originated on the Atlantic Seaboard, where their fortunes were under the influence of the Great Megis or Sea Shell -- good when the shell rose from the sea, bad when it descended beneath the waves. The wild rice refers to the abundance of that cereal found on the shores of Georgian Bay, the present home of the Ojibwa people.

Artist: LCdr Steve Cowan, Area Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer (Sea), Vancouver Island.
