Blazon: Gules on a plate embattled three bendlets wavy Azure, surmounted by a tomahawk in bend sinister proper.
Significance: The original name of the corps was SHIPSHAW, a name derived from the Montagnais Indian word meaning "enclosed river", originally referring to the canyon in which the Shipshaw river flows. In modern times, the river is enclosed by the dams and turbines of many hydroelectric facilities. In the badge design, the wavy band is the standard heraldic symbol for a river. The outer red embattled area suggests the blades of a turbine enclosing the river. The tomahawk alludes to the Montagnais Indian tribe, who were the original inhabitants of the area.
