Blazon: Argent, two bendlets wavy Azure, over all a Haida Indian representation of the raven clan symbol facing to sinister proper.
Significance: Kitamaat is an anglicized version of a Haida Indian word meaning "people of the snow", since the Kitimat area is famous for its snowfall. In the badge design, the white background signifies snow, while the blue and white wavy band represents both the Kitimat river and the waves of the sea, on which the city is located. The main figure is that of a stylized raven, the symbol of the Haida Raven Clan, symbolizing the Haida origin of the name. As a protective spirit, the raven looks to the "sinister" side of the field, from which evil influences might be supposed to arise.
