Blazon: Barry wavy of ten Argent and Azure, a pile Gules issuant from the dexter flank, charged with a mullet Argent, point to dexter, with oviphile commas of the same issuing from the points, and between them five fleurs-de-lis Or.
Significance: The badge is that of the HMCS GASPE. The red triangle symbolizes the Gaspe peninsula and its shores which form the Gaspe Basin. The star (mullet) with the commas is known as the 'Oviphile' symbol. This is a Basque device and refers to the historical claim that Basque fishermen discovered the Gaspe area prior to Jacques Cartier's landing. The fleurs-de-lis refer to Carier and the pioneer French settlers.
Notes: CCMRC Gaspe originally in Gaspe, Quebec
