Blazon: Azure, a unicorn's head erased Argent, armed and crined Or, langued Gules, gorged with a plain collar of the third, the collar secured by a plate, fimbriated Or and charged with a maple leaf Gules.
Significance: The badge is that of HMCS Fort Frances. The town (and ship) were named for Lady Frances Ramsay Simpson, wife of the Governor of the North-West department of the Hudson's Bay Co. The unicorn's head is from the arms of the Ramsay family, while the maple leaf on the collar symbolizes the fort's location in Canada.
