Blazon: Vert, a cross patonce Argent in the centre of which a torteau charged with a fouled anchor of the second, and between each arm of the cross a wing Or.
Significance: The badge is that of HMCS COVERDALE, a naval radio station. The community of Coverdale was named after Miles Coverdale, 16th century Bishop of Exeter, a great religious reformer and translator of the first English Bible. In the badge the cross is a reference to Bishop Coverdale. The anchor on a red disc with gold wings is derived from the old non-substantive badge of Wireless Telegraphy ratings. The green background indicates that the "ship" was on dry land.
