Blazon: Barry wavy of eight Argent and Azure, on a pile inverted Gules a crenellated tower Argent mortared Sable, charged with an inescutcheon of the second bearing three pine cones Or.
Significance: The background represents the waters of the St. Lawrence river, while the red triangle symbolizes a cape -- "red cape" or "Cap Rouge". The tower is symbolic of the original fort built on this site by Jacques Cartier. The three gold pine cones are the arms of Cartier himself and, incidentally, of the modern community of Cap Rouge.
