Significance: | The background represents the waters of the St. Lawrence river, while the red triangle symbolizes a cape -- "red cape" or "Cap Rouge". The tower is symbolic of the original fort built on this site by Jacques Cartier. The three gold pine cones are the arms of Cartier himself and, incidentally, of the modern community of Cap Rouge. |
