Blazon: Azure, two flasques Or, and over all a bridge of three arches embattled joining two towers Proper, mortared Sable.
Significance: The blue hour-glass shape represents the strait of Canso while the bridge represents the causeway. The two towers symbolize the fortifications raised by the French and British on each side of the strait during the eighteenth century as well as the role of HMCS CANSO as a guardian of the sea lanes.
