Blazon: Argent, a cross Gules, in the dexter canton a torteau, the whole surmounted by two telescopes in saltire Proper, and over all an Admiral's cocked hat of the same.
Significance: The cross and ball represent the flag of a vice-admiral. The telescopes signify Admiral Nelles's foresightedness and watchful care in guiding the RCN's growth from thirteen to over four hundred vessels. The cocked hat signifies his place as the last of the pre-war admirals.
Notes: RCSCC Admiral Nelles, Brantford, Ontario
Artist: LCdr Steve Cowan, Area Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer (Sea), Vancouver Island.
