Blazon: Gules, three tilting spears Or, heads upward Argent, one in pale, two in saltire, within a laurel chaplet in orle of the second.
Significance: The design of the three tilting spears surrounded by a laurel wreath is derived from both the shield and crest of General Lord Jeffrey Amherst, after whom both the community and corps are named. He was the senior British General in North America during the Seven Years' War with France and was responsible, with his subordinate James Wolfe, for the capture of Louisbourg.
